Move over the Khans and the Bachchans it’s the new breed of actors, who are dominating the ad world. From hair oils, colas, coffee to cars and gadgets, Bollywood’s new brigade tops the list of celebrity endorsements.
The ad filmmakers are readily roping in young actors like Imran Khan, Parineeti Chopra, Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor to attract youth.
Currently, Anushka tops the celebrity endorsement list, the 25-year-old actress has as many as 12 brands in her kitty, which include Parachute hair oil, Kara skin wipes, Joy face wash, Reliance CommMobile, Nivea body creams/lotions, Nivea deodorants, Geetanjali Jewellery, Canon cameras, TVS scooters, Sofy sanitary napkins, Elle 18 cosmetics, Bru coffee.
Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor comes second with seven brand endorsements Lenovo computers, PepsiCo, John Players, Hero MotoCorp, Nissan Motors, Panasonic India and BlackBerry.
Sonakshi Sinha is endorsing brands like Dyna, Red Label, Fem. Kajal Agarwal of "Singham" and "Special Chabbis" fame is the face of Colgate Active Salt.
Actress Sonam Kapoor, who has been tagged as Bollywood's fashionista, is the brand ambassador of Lo’real and Garnier.
Apart from doing the Bru coffee ad with Anushka, actor Imran Khan is seen endorsing mango drink Maaza with Parineeti.
Parineeti, who rose to fame with films like "Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl" and "Ishaqzaade", endorse brands like Kurkure, Nivea, Maaza and Spinz.
"Student of the Year" trio Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra are being offered endorsement deals together and individually.
While all three of them are seen in new Coke ads, Sidharth Malhotra is also endorsing Kwality Wall’s ice-cream with Yami Gautam. Yami is also the face of Fair and Lovely fairness cream.
After his debut film "Kai Po Che", Sushant Singh Rajput has landed his first endorsement deal with Pepsi. He is the face of its new drink Pepsi Atom.
It seems these newcomers will dominate the ad world for long time.
