Karisma Kapoor may return to the small screen

Karisma Kapoor, who has worked in a fiction show on TV and even judged reality shows, says if she will find anything interesting, she may return to the small screen.

"Maybe I will do TV again. I like to pick and choose what I do. So maybe I will, if something interesting comes up," Karisma said here after a promotional event for a new beverage - Rasna Ju-C.

The 38-year-old actress made her TV debut in 2003 with ‘Karishma - The Miracles of Destiny’, and then judged reality shows like ‘Nach Baliye 4’ and ‘Aaja Mahi Vay’.

After reigning over the Hindi film industry for over a decade with hits like ‘Judwaa’, ‘Hero No. 1’, ‘Biwi No.1’, ‘Raja Hindustani’ and ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’, she quit showbiz in 2003 post her marriage with Delhi-based industrialist Sanjay Kapur.

Last year, she made her comeback with ‘Dangerous Ishhq’. Now she will be seen in ‘Bombay Talkies’, releasing May 3.

Talking about ‘Bombay Talkies’ and 100 years of Indian cinema, she said: "I think the entire film fraternity wanted to be a part of the 100 years of cinema, and I think it`s great that all the actors took out time to be a part of it. Because we all love cinema and acting."

She added that "it`s a great way to celebrate the 100 years" by giving something back to the audience "for appreciating all of us for so long".

The actress also mentioned that she enjoys looking back at roles she has done. "It`s great. I enjoy them. The stars come from down of the ladder to reach the top, but when you are there, you think where do you go from there.

"It was a great learning experience. Working really hard and doing four shifts a day," she said and pointed out that today`s actors enjoy a very different life than that.

"But I think I also enjoyed the whole experience," she added.

Karisma, a mother of two kids - Samaira and Kiaan Raj Kapoor - says now her priorities are her children.

"It`s all about your priorities. And my priorities will always be my kids."

Actress Deepshikha, who is set to play evil Bavanderpari in "Balveer", says she enjoys fantasy-based entertainment and that she is sure "it is going to be a lot of fun".

"I love fantasy-based television shows and I'm really looking forward to begin shooting for 'Balveer'. Being a part of the magical Pari-Lok is surely going to be a lot of fun," Deepshikha said in a statement.

Her character Bavanderpari is considered very powerful. She possesses the power of the wind and no power can destroy her as she creates a shield of wind which prevents any kind of magic from getting anywhere close to her.

Her character enters when some of the good ‘paris' accidentally open a room in which she has been kept captive since ages. After she manages to escape from it, she learns of Balveer's existence and his powers and decides to fight him.

Deepshikha's look as Bavanderpari is very different - with long robes, and a heavy head gear.

"My look and attire have a lot of detailing and creativity into it. I'm really thrilled to be a part of the cast for ‘Balveer'," she added.

Vishal-Shekhar comes up with energetic music to suit young generation

Vishal-Shekhar comes up with energetic music to suit young generation

Film: "Gippi"
Music directors: Vishal Dadlani, Shekhar Ravijiani
Singers: Hard Kaur, Udit Narayan, Vishal Dadlani, Shekhar Ravijiani, Sukhwinder Singh and Neeti Mohan.
The music album of director Sonam Nair's movie "Gippi" has five tracks. Popular musical duo Vishal-Shekhar have made it a point to deliver songs that not just capture the fancy of the young crowd with their beats, but they also give a lot of importance to lyrics. The same can be said of their tracks in"Gippi".

The first track is "We are like this only", sung by Vishal-Shekhar. One can easily describe it as a 'cool' track. With lots of drums and rapping, the track feels funky. It is a good number, but not a dance track. Hard Kaur's rap bits are the icing on the cake in this one.

The next number is "Baby doll". Sung by Sukhwinder Singh and Udit Narayan, the song has Punjabi beats but the singers have lent it an Uttar Pradesh accent. The song talks about the remixed generation and its beats change pace over and over again. Better than average, this can be classified as a good number.

"Pehn di takki" is the third track. The title, given that the movie is centred around the youth, indicates it is a double entendre number. Sung by Vishal it is just that. The lyrics are in Punjabi, so not everyone can understand them. But it generally talks about a girl becoming shameless. The music is good, but some may like it a lot, and some may not!

The next track "Mann baavra" is sung by Shekhar Ravijiani. He adds his soothing voice to the song, which sounds relaxing after a dose of dance numbers. An emotional number, it talks about memories and is sung very beautifully. The drums join the singer gradually, making the overall sound feel good. The best part is that the instruments don't overtake the singer's voice even once. Shekhar picks up pace as the song dives deep into emotions. A beautiful composition.

Neeti Mohan has crooned the last song in the album - "Dil kagzi". Call it a 'dreamy' track. The music maintains a particular rhythm in the background and the lyrics reflect a certain fascination of a child. No wonder the song has a tinge of a lullaby, ending on a melodious flute tune.

"Gippi", produced by Dharma Productions, has a good compilation of songs. Not only does it spell a lot of energy, but also keeps the listener entertained all along. The music directors have not skipped the emotions of the youth while also concentrating on offering some fun.
